Please accept my humble obeisances. I beg to acknowledge receipt of your letters dated 15th and 21st March, 1977 respectively.
The package with the 9th Canto, volume 2, as well as microphone and batteries has been received safely, and the Back to Godheads and Satsvarupa’s book also. Thank you.
Michael Cody’s initiated name is Mahasraya Dasa and Terilyn Cody’s initiated name is Tapati Dasi. This I have already sent to you in a letter dated 2nd April, 1977.
I have spoken with Pradyumna Prabhu and at the time of typing this letter he promised to finish all nine months of the Vaisnava calendar and send it with mother Tusti. Regarding editing the tapes, I have worked out the following arrangement with him. Every morning, early in the morning I will give the tape that Prabhupada has dictated the previous night to Arundhati Prabhu. She will type it and give it to her husband Pradyumna by noontime. Pradyumna will listen to the tape and check the typing and then edit as much as he can. Then by the following morning he has to hand in the manuscript to me. In this way within one day’s time he will have as much work completed on each tape as possible. If I find that he is not able to work in this way, then we will limit his work to simply checking the typing against the tape. But he is anxious to do some editing, so if he can also do that and not slow down the work, then this will certainly be desirable. I will take the responsibility to see that the manuscripts are sent to Los Angeles regularly on time. Regarding the Uher tape recorder there is only a slight defect in it, by removing a screw, which may simply mean that the pause button has to be operating manually, rather than the tape turning from one side to the other automatically. The machine is now quite satisfactory. So I am keeping it here as the spare. I hope this is alright with you.
Regarding the tapes of Srila Prabhupada’s daily conversations and lectures, I am doing this, not Upendra. Enclosed please find a list of the tapes which were sent. The tapes are being carried by mother Tusti and you can get them from her. I have noted on a list which of the tapes are particularly excellent.
