Although it was before the appearance of the Lord, the Lord was chanting and preaching the Hari-sankirtan dharma. Due to the happening of the eclipsed moon everyone was down at the bank of the ganges bathing and shouting "Hari, Hari." Even people who had never taken holy name before were shouting "Hari, Hari" on that evening. Sachi and Jagganath Misra, on seeing the beautiful face of their son, were very very blissful—they were the image of bliss. Sachi's mother's father, Nilambar Chakravarti was an astrologer of very great renown, and he was invited to see the baby's auspicious signs and auspicious moment of appearance. He noticed the signs of great, great kings, and he would be a king amongst Brahmins of Bengal. He will have the knowledge of the guru of the demigods, Brhaspati, and very quickly He will develop all the qualities of the demigods. Then Nilambar Chakravarti started to prophesize the future events of the life of Lord Caitanya.
The Brahmin said, "This child is none other than Narayana Himself and He will establish the dharma of this age. By his amazing preaching influence He will be able to save and uplift the whole world. Lord Brahma, Lord Siva, Sukadeva Goswami and the Rsis will all be seeking fulfilment of Krsna prema from Him. He is the image of the religion of the highest truth. He is the maintainer of the cows, Brahmins, and the demigods and He is the guru of the Brahmins, of all castes, all dharmas, and all asrams. You, Jagganath Misra, are the most fortunate personality to have this Personality as your son, and I am very fortunate to be able to have His association. Because of these qualities, He should be called Visvambhar because he can save the whole universe. Because he is the embodiment of the Supreme Bliss, he is called Nabadwip Chandra.
As everyone was very much overjoyed at all these prophesizes, the astrologer, Nilambar Chakravarti, didn't reveal the Lord's taking sannyas in the future.
Jagganath Misra was very pure and he could only touch the feet the Nilambar Chakravarti and wept in great ecstasy. Nilambar Chakravarti took the dust of the lotus feet of Jagganath Misra and both of them wept and everyone shouted, "Hari, Hari!" Then various kinds of musical instruments played, the mrdanga, the shami and the flute, all to increase the relatives bliss and happiness. Many demigods and wives of the demigods appeared among the crowd as ordinary people to have a look as the holy Supreme Personality . And they gave all their blessings to Lord Caitanya, that may He live forever and fill the universe with bliss. And these demigods took the dust of the lotus feet of Saci. It is not possible to describe the ecstasy of the home of Jagannath Misra and everyone, barring none, from the city of Nadia came to visit and expressed their happiness.
Lord Caitanya was born in the full moon night of the month of Falgoon. This day is worshipped by Brahma, and the host of demigods. This very day is the embodiment of devotional service itself. Lord Nityananda was born on the thirteenth day of Magh, and Lord Caitanya was born on the full moon of Falgoon. Whatever auspicious work, whatever journey is begun on these days will certainly meet with success, and whatever auspicious religious work is done it will fructify into Krsna bhakti. Whoever hears about the birth of Lord Caitanya, will never be unhappy again in his life and it will end his cycle of birth and death. One who hears constantly the topics about Lord Caitanya, his life will fructify into devotional service, and birth after birth he will obtain the association of Lord Caitanya. It is not that Lord Caitanya's pastimes are between His appearance and disappearance. They are all eternal. Each event is an eternal happening in the spiritual sky and one can understand the beginning, or end of Lord Caitanya's lila is a complete whole. Vrndavana das Thakur said, "However by the Lord's grace, I am able to write in some succession the amazing events of the Lord and by the grace of his devotees, I am able to know something of this matter. I hope that all my offences will be forgiven."
Thus ends the Third Chapter
