Chapter 10: Prahlāda, the Best Among Exalted Devotees

ततो ऽग्निवर्णा इषव उत्पेतुः सूर्यमण्डलात् यथा मयूखसन्दोहा नादृश्यन्त पुरो यतः

tato 'gni-varṇā iṣava utpetuḥ sūrya-maṇḍalāt yathā mayūkha-sandohā nādṛśyanta puro yataḥ

Synonyms

tataḥthereafter; agni-varṇāḥas brilliant as fire; iṣavaḥarrows; utpetuḥreleased; sūrya-maṇḍalātfrom the sun globe; yathājust as; mayūkha-sandohāḥbeams of light; na adṛśyantacould not be seen; puraḥthe three residences; yataḥbecause of this (being covered by the arrows of Lord Śiva)..

Translation

The arrows released by Lord Śiva appeared like fiery beams emanating from the sun globe and covered the three residential airplanes, which could then no longer be seen.
