Purport
The battle of Kurukshetra was fought between the family members and as such all affected persons were also family members like MaharajJudhisthir and brothers, Kunti, Droupadi, Subhadra, Dhritarastra, Gandhari and her daughter-in-laws etc. All the principal dead bodies were some way or other related with every one of them and therefore the family berievement was being observed all at a place. Lord Krishna was also one of them as cousin brother of the Pandavas and nephew of Kunti as well as brother of Subhadra etc. The Lord was, therefore, equally sympathetic for all of them and therefore He began to pacify them in the manner just befitting the situation.
