daivatāni rudantīva svidyanti hy uccalanti ca ime jana-padā grāmāḥ purodyānākarāśramāḥ bhraṣṭa-śriyo nirānandāḥ kim aghaṁ darśayanti naḥ

Synonyms

daivatānithe deities in the temples; rudantiseeming to be crying; ivalike that; svidyantilamenting; hicertainly; uccalantias if going out; caalso; imethis; jana-padāḥcity; grāmāḥvillages; puratowns; udyānagardens; ākaramines; āśramāḥhermitages etc. Bhrasta—devoid of; bhraṣṭabeauties; śriyaḥbereft of all happiness; nirānandāḥwhat sort of; kimcalamities; aghamshall manifest; darśayantito us.

Translation

The deities in the temple are like crying in the temple, lamenting with perspiration, and seemingly moving from the place. All the cities, villages, towns, gardens, mines and hermitages are now devoid of all beauty and bereft of all happiness. Do not know what sort of calamities are awaiting us in these manifestations.
