সখি মুরলি বিশালচ্ছিদ্রজলেন পূর্ণা লঘুরতিকঠিনা ত্বং গ্রন্থিলা নীরসাসি তদপি ভজসি শ্বশ্বচ্চুম্বনানন্দসান্দ্রং হরিকরপরিরম্ভং কেন পুণ্যোদযেন

सखि मुरलि विशालच्छिद्रजलेन पूर्णा लघुरतिकठिना त्वं ग्रन्थिला नीरसासि तदपि भजसि श्वश्वच्चुम्बनानन्दसान्द्रं हरिकरपरिरम्भं केन पुण्योदयेन

sakhi murali viśāla-cchidra-jalena pūrṇā laghur atikaṭhinā tvaṁ granthilā nīrasāsi tad api bhajasi śvaśvac cumbanānanda-sāndraṁ hari-kara-parirambhaṁ kena puṇyodayena

Synonyms

Translation

" 'My dear friend the flute, you are actually full of many holes or faults. You are light, hard, juiceless and full of knots. But what kind of pious activities have engaged you in the service of being kissed by the Lord and embraced by His hands?'

Purport

This verse (Vidagdha-mādhava 4.7) is spoken by Candrāvalī-sakhī, the gopī competitor of Śrīmatī Rādhārāṇī.
