না গণি আপনদুঃখ, দেখিঽ ব্রজেশ্বরীমুখ, ব্রজজনের হৃদয বিদরে কিবা মারঽ ব্রজবাসী, কিবা জীযাও ব্রজে আসিঽ, কেন জীযাও দুঃখ সহাইবারে?
ना गणि आपनदुःख, देखिऽ व्रजेश्वरीमुख, व्रजजनेर हृदय विदरे किबा मारऽ व्रजवासी, किबा जीयाओ व्रजे आसिऽ, केन जीयाओ दुःख सहाइबारे?
nā gaṇi āpana-duḥkha, dekhi' vrajeśvarī-mukha, vraja-janera hṛdaya vidare kibā māra' vraja-vāsī, kibā jīyāo vraje āsi', kena jīyāo duḥkha sahāibāre?

Translation
" 'I do not care for My personal unhappiness, but when I see the morose face of Your mother Yaśodā and the hearts of all the inhabitants of Vṛndāvana breaking because of You, I wonder whether You want to kill them all. Is it that You want to enliven them by coming there? Why is it You are simply keeping them alive in a state of suffering?
