কেহ ছত্রে মাগিঽ খায, যেবা কিছু পায কেহ রাত্রে ভিক্ষা লাগিঽ সিংহদ্বারে রয

केह छत्रे मागिऽ खाय, येबा किछु पाय केह रात्रे भिक्षा लागिऽ सिंहद्वारे रय

keha chatre māgi' khāya, yebā kichu pāya keha rātre bhikṣā lāgi' siṁha-dvāre raya

Synonyms

kehasome; chatreat the almshouse; māgi'begging; khāyaeat; yebawhatever; kichulittle; pāyathey receive; kehasome; rātreat night; bhikṣā lāgi'for begging alms; siṁha-dvāre rayastand at the gate known as Siṁha-dvāra..

Translation

It is a custom for some Vaiṣṇavas to beg from the charity booths and eat whatever they obtain, whereas others stand at night at the Siṁha-dvāra gate, begging alms from the servants.
